We Want To Hear From You!
Log in and take the survey
The AOTA Procedural & Organization Change Ad Hoc Committee recently held their first meeting and, in an effort to keep all members involved, they are asking for feedback on their draft design specifications, which will guide the group's decision making. The primary goal of the committee is to develop recommendations for an AOTA governance structure that optimizes member participation and expeditiously propels the occupational therapy profession towards the Centennial Vision. Take the survey and read an executive summary (log in) of the September meeting.

The Pulse: Can We Do More for Those With Low Vision? horizontal line
Do public officials have an obligation to do more for people with low vision? Writing for the Washington Post, a woman who is legally blind says they do. After describing the difficulties of completing her daily activities (e.g., not being able to notice the difference between Walk and Don't Walk signs in NYC on cloudy days, and having to vote in elections with a magnifying glass), she urges all elected officials to look through the eyes of the legally blind. What do you think? Should there be more stringent standards and codes for signage and lighting?
