Medicare Therapy Cap Repeal Legislation Needs Grassroots Action A bill to fully repeal the law placing caps on Medicare Part B outpatient occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology was recently introduced in both the House and the Senate. The bill will require substantial grassroots action from AOTA members for the caps to be addressed by December 31, 2007.

EVIDENCE BYTE: Physical Activity and Children
One of the best strategies to combat child obesity is to increase physical activity, according to a new U.S. Government Accountability Office report to Congress. The report identifies demographic, community-based, and cognitive and behavioral factors as barriers to increasing physical activity and is based on a narrative literature review of 53 articles published between 2003 and 2006.
