Scope of Practice Issues Update: Answers to Your Questions, Upcoming RA Motions, and More

CMS Changes Rules Governing Part A Inpatient Therapeutic Services
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued Transmittal 65 on January 26, 2007, providing guidance on multiple issues in many Part A settings. AOTA is working with CMS to obtain further clarification for billing and documentation changes related to group therapy, student supervision, and related documentation requirements.

Evidence BYTE: Early Childhood Topics
The Research and Training Center on Early Childhood Development funded by the U.S. Department of Education and located at the Puckett Institute offers tool kits on topics such as strengthening the parent-child relationship, ADHD assessment in preschool-age children, and assessing social-emotional difficulties in infants. The site features practice-oriented, evidence-based research summaries in user-friendly formats.
