AOTA Joins in Launching CarFit Program
AOTA has partnered with America's leading senior citizen health and safety organizations to launch the older driver safety program CarFit. The program stems from a collaborative effort by AAA, AARP, the American Society on Aging, and AOTA, which included more than 2 years of research and development.

AOTA Welcomes New Board Members
Several new Board members took office during AOTA's Annual Conference & Expo, April 20-23, including Brent Braveman, Paul Fontana, Saburi Imara, Sheri Montgomery, Mary Moore, and Janet Neely.

2007 Representative Assembly Highlights
The Representative Assembly (RA), AOTA's congress, took 118 actions during its meeting in St. Louis. The RA elected a new Speaker, Brent Braveman, and a new Recognitions Chair, Peter Giroux. With the adoption of amendments to the Bylaws at the AOTA Annual Business Meeting in St. Louis, the Speaker also became a member of the Board of Directors.

Washington State Passes Service Credit Bill
After more than 10 years of effort by the Washington Occupational Therapy Association, Washington State's House and Senate recently passed a bill that grants occupational therapists, among others, service credit for nonschool employment. The governor is expected to sign the bill soon.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has unveiled a new user-centered site to provide better access to health and safety topics; data and statistics; news and events; expanded resources; and an improved search engine. Tour Offers Insights Into Training for Army OTs
AOTA President Penelope Moyers, Past President Barbara Kornblau, and several occupational therapy educators from across the country attended the first-ever U.S. Army Medical Specialist Corps Center of Influence Educator Tour. The group got a first-hand look at Army innovations in education, research, and practice.
